Now, something has changed in my life, I am ready to have dirty feet. In the last years, I’ve been barefoot inside my house and slipped shoes on to walk outside in my meditation garden, or redwood deck or pool area. (Left photo reveals my collection of white flip flops)
I have resisted getting my feet dirty. Somehow it felt bad or unclean to directly absorb the outside dirt. I am not sure why that was so. Things have changed now.
On a recent walk, as I was praising my brand new super-supportive athletic shoes, my dear friend Naomi responded by sharing the value of touching the ground to receive the good energy of the Earth without any barriers. I think her words sunk in.
Because, now during the day, (I go in and out of my house and garden on average 20-30 times a day), I no longer need shoes. My feet take in the soil, like a lover’s kiss. I feel more intimacy with the Earth. Something delicious is happening.
It feels good to exercise my creative muscles this morning in this post and also feel the cool moist dirt on my feet, having been outside many times in the process of writing this post.
Exercise your creative muscles everyday! Get dirty and have fun!
