I swam with dolphins in the ocean yesterday, only because I trusted my intuition. Timing is everything.
We had just arrived at Fletcher Cove in Solana Beach around 3 pm. I was setting up my umbrella and beach chair on the sand when I felt it. Michael, my husband, was in the middle of telling me something. I trusted the call. I had to go “Now!” and interrupted him to say, “I am going to swim to the buoy. Be back in 20 minutes.”
Then an eighth a mile out to sea, a pod of 8 large dolphins swam right across my path.
Pure ecstasy to be within a few feet of these wild magnificent animals! It felt like 1000 cups of caffeine had blasted through my blood stream, the rush was incredible. I was completely intoxicated and in love.
I shouted with great joy to them as they swam past me, “I love you! I love you! I love you!”
Then as I returned to shore in solitude, I realized that there are not a lot of dolphins here in San Diego at this time of the year. My intuition knew to go into the ocean at that exact time. I trusted the call and followed it.
I was also aware of how often I feel that “pull” in a social situation, and can override it to be polite, not trusting and following my intuition. I felt safe to interrupt my husband today. This experience was telling to trust my gut, to authentically respond to the call, even if it means to be socially innapropriate.
Swimming back to shore I heard a whisper within, “Our survival as a species may depend on trusting our intuition now, more than trusting our social intelligence. Trust and follow your intuition. Timing is everything.”
How cool is that.
Let your intuition guide! Have fun!
